It is Friday, which means different things for different people. For most of the American world, Friday is the end of the work week. For me, it’s my Monday (and Monday is my Friday, yeehaw!) but that’s not really the point. I have decided Friday is a good day to bring up some of my favorite wastes of time. The Internet is amazing. Here’s some things to do on it.
1.) Robot Unicorn Attack
This game is amazing. It has a unicorn, rainbows, dolphins, Erasure, and no way to win. You play as a robot unicorn racing across a platform universe and battling huge metal stars that insist on getting in the way. It doesn’t take long to play, but you mind find yourself sinking more time into it than you ever planned. You may also find yourself singing “Always” at random times during the day.
2.) Weebls-Stuff
This is a site run by a few Brits with quite a lot of talent. They create games and flash cartoons and even host the work of other artists on their site. A lot of the music they write is catchy and gets stuck in your head. I highly recommend watching the On The Moon series, as well as the random toons. These are the people who brought you “Badger” and “Magical Trevor,” so you may have already experienced their amazingness. But go check out their other stuff, it’s Amazing (just like the Horse!)
3.) Farmville
So the silly little sim-type game on Facebook suddenly exploded. There are 60 times more people playing Farmville than real farmers. In an effort to gain even more money, the creators launched Farmville.com, which is the same game with several “exclusive” items thrown in. It’s insane how addicting this thing is. Also, if you do play, please send me stuff for my farm.
4.) Webcomics
There are a bazillion good webcomics out there, many of them better than the stuff you find printed. I’m going to link you to one my sister reads and loves, with the caveat that it only updates when the author can. The Meek There is magic, a cute girl, giant salamander elementals of awesome, and an emperor named Luca. Can’t go wrong. Also sending you to The Phoenix Requiem which is often at the top of webcomic listings for being amazing. If you like comics, please go sink some time into these!
5.) I Can Has Cheezburger
Everyone has seen LOLcats. If you haven’t, go here and you’ll learn what they are rather quickly. This site, which is linked to the oh-so-wonderful FailBlog, features thousands of kitteh dat want ur cheezburgers, among other things. Read through the ones on the site already for some laughs, read through the mind-boggling forum comments on the good ones. And, if you have a blank picture of a kitty or think you can do better, you can use their LOLBuilder to create one of your own.
